Manchester Unitedgoalkeeper David de Gea's poor effort for Edin Dzeko's goal in their Community Shield win over Manchester City did not surprise Spanish observers.
The Daily Mail says Dzeko's speculative long-range effort to put City 2-0 up on the stroke of half-time drew criticism of United’s new young keeper — and it’s an aspect of his game that he will have to improve.
Last season, the 20-year-old conceded more goals from distance than any other keeper in the Spanish Primera Liga — 11 (the same number as Ben Foster at Birmingham) — in his final campaign with Atletico Madrid.
