Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean has likened new signing David Goodwillie toManchester United starWayne Rooney.
Goodwillie signed for Rovers this week from Dundee United.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: “David has always been put on a parallel with a young Wayne Rooneyand you can see that when you see him play. He can score all types of goals, not just nice build ups and a tap in.
“He can create a goal for himself, score from outside the box, he can chip them in, pass them in, smash them in. We don’t mind how they go in because that is what we need at the club, a natural finisher, and that is something he is.
“David was always very high on our list of summer signings. He was the top young target, because we were trying to get an established player that was going to come in and get the goals and a young player to compliment him - alongside the players we have already got.
“We wanted two senior ones and two younger ones and so we have Mauro and David as young ones and Jason Roberts as an older one. We can mix these guys together.”
