Yesterday we speculated that United might just open the cheque book once more before the transfer window closed.
Our speculation surrounded the possibility of Cheik Tiote arriving from Newcastle. Today the tabloid press is inferring that a deal for Wesley Sneijder might not be as dead as we called it.
The tabloid reiterates that Inter are willing to accept £35 million for the midfield ace and that now the Dutch ace might be willing, in order to resurrect the deal, be prepared to substantially lower his salary demands from £200,000 a week to a mere £140,000.
But before we get our hopes raised too high, the word coming out of Milan this afternoon is that Inter take a very different view to that of the tabloid with their president vowing Sneijder is not for sale!
With the deadline still two weeks away, we`re still keeping a close eye on this one!
