Manchester United defender Chris Smalling admitsWayne Rooney is now seen at the club as a senior leader.
Rooney, at 25, is now regarded as one of the senior figures at Old Trafford.
Smalling said: "Rooney is young in terms of his age but is one of the more experienced players now. The young players try to learn from players like him."
