Manchester United bossSir Alex Ferguson admits he was happy Luka Modric was missing for Tottenham in Monday's victory.
Ferguson admitted United's task against Tottenham was made easier by the enforced absence of Chelseatarget Modric, who was left out byHarry Redknapp because of the constant speculation surrounding his future.
"I think they [Spurs] would always miss Modric," said Ferguson, speaking to New York-based radio station Sirius XM.
"But don't forget their start to the season was interrupted with their first game, againstEverton, being cancelled.
"So the game against us was really their first of the season. So they've got a bit of a way to go in terms of their general match fitness, but I think that will come, obviously."
