Manchester United strikerWayne Rooney loved getting one over Manchester City in yesterday's Community Shield thriller.
Rooney admitted the win was sweeter because of the opposition.
"Of course," he said. "Obviously they are going to try to fight us for that (Premier League) title. They scored two goals from nowhere but we showed character to win the game."
Rooney took to Twitter after the game to declare United had delivered a "footballing lesson".
He wrote: "Have to say. I think today was a footballing lesson. Great win for the champions."
