Anderlecht chief David Steegens reveals imminentChelsea signing Romelu Lukaku is football MAD.
Steegens, the Anderlecht director who has been Lukaku’s mentor, says he is one of a kind.
“I come to England a lot to watch matches and I always took Romelu back football books,” Steegens told the Daily Express. “He would devour them. He loves them.
“He is totally obsessed with football. He subscribes to Chelsea TV,Manchester United TV and Real Madrid TV.”
Signed at 14 by Anderlecht, Lukaku was placed on the club’s Purple Talent programme, which aims to give their young players an all-round education and develop their football skills.
“He is a very intelligent boy. He is very worldly for his age and very ambitious. He likes his music, he likes his computer games, but he is totally focused on football.”
