Celtic skipper Brown excited about Man Utd legends match

03.08.11 | Andrew Slevison

Celtic captain Scott Brown admits he is eagerly anticipating next week’s charity legends match between a Hoops All-Star XI and aManchester United All-Star XI.
The Glasgow giants will host the match on Tuesday, August 9 with all proceeds going to Oxfam’s East Africa Famine Appeal and Brown can’t wait to see the club’s past superstars in action again in front of the loyal Hoops fans.
“I think it’s great for the fans to see all their old favourites again,” he told the club’s official website.
“All the players they loved are coming back, they used to cheer for them back in the day and hopefully they do the same for us one day.
“I wouldn’t say any of us are of a legendary status though. When you talk about legends you talk about Henrik Larsson, Jimmy Johnstone and the likes of van Hooijdonk and Di Canio.
“These guys inspire you to be a better player, to be a part of Celtic and their history.”
