Man Utd rejected Wolves approach for Macheda loan

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy moved for Manchester United striker Kiko Macheda last week.
The Express & Star says McCarthy attempted to strengthen his attack before last week’s cut-off by enquiring about taking Manchester United striker Macheda on loan.
But United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wanted the 20-year-old Italian to go somewhere where he would be guaranteed regular first-team football, something Wolves could not promise.
Wolves also considered a move for 6ft 3ins Daryl Murphy but the gangly striker, who has a year left on his contract at Celtic, instead joined Ipswich on loan.
