Manchester United defender Jonny Evans was pleased with their draw at Champions League opponents Benfica.
The defender played alongside Chris Smalling at the heart of the defence and continued to impress as United picked up a valuable point from the toughest fixture of the six group games on paper. After falling behind in front of a passionate crowd,Ryan Giggs' splendid equaliser ensured a share of the spoils.
"It was a tough game," Evans admitted to ManUtd.com at the Estadio da Luz. "Especially after going a goal down, we pulled it back and it was a great goal by Giggsy.
"They pressed us pretty well and stopped us playing out from the back. They forced us to go back to the goalkeeper quite a lot. Benfica play a lot of possession in their own half and we probably could have done a bit better in the first period but we did better in the second half."
