Manchester United defender John O’Shea will undergo a medical with Sunderland, indicating that a move is about to occur.
The Republic of Ireland international has been linked with the Black Cats for much of the summer and it now seems certain he will join the club when he passes his medical.
O’Shea will follow in the footsteps of Red Devils teammate Wes Brown, who passed his medical last night and is expected to be officially unveiled at the Stadium of Light today.
It has so far been a busy summer for Sunderland who have secured the services of Sebastian Larsson, Connor Wickham, Craig Gardner and Keiren Westwood.
