Messi says he enjoyed playing against United in their triumphant Champions League final last season.
"I like Manchester United because they have players who always try to play good football, Arsenal too have a system and an idea like our football," said Messi.
"Real Madrid is perhaps not as flashy a team, but has some amazing players ... they attack well on the break."
Messi also insisted he never clashed with Diego Maradona when he was Argentina coach.
"I never had any problem with Diego. There was much talk that we had some fights when he was coach, but it's not true," he added.
