Man City boss Mancini won't fall for mind games of Man Utd's Ferguson

01 Jan 2012

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini says he won't fall for the mind games ofManchester United rival Sir Alex Ferguson.
Mancini insists that Fergie will be wasting his time if he attempts to play on his nerves in the New Year.
“I only think about the next game,” said Mancini. “I don’t think about what Fergie or any other manager says about my team. I know what Sir Alex is like. But words between managers are not important.
“We have respect for him and for his team, but we are strong enough here to just keep our eyes on the title.
“I won’t have any pressure from Fergie because my focus is on my team and we don’t listen to anyone else. If we want to win the Premier League then we need to win a lot of points from our next 20 games.
“That should be our focus.
“Most years, if you have 45 points after 18 games, like we have, you would have a big advantage.
“But United have had the best start in their history.
“We have had a fantastic start and I am sure that if we win another 45 points then we will win the title.”
