Man Utd boss Ferguson: Scottish football getting better

30.06.11 | Andrew Slevison

Manchester United managerSir Alex Ferguson is of firm belief that football in Scotland is on the improve.
The famous Scottish tactician is well aware that the Scottish national team has not made a major tournament in 13 years but is confident that things are getting better via the development of players involved at national level.
"There is an effort in Scotland to progress, there's no question about that,” he said at former club Falkirk’s training facilities at Stirling Uni yesterday.
"You're seeing it in the national team now where they've a collection of good midfielders.
"So there is progress being made and that's only through the work that's been done over the last few years because the foundations are laid when a kid is four, five, six years of age.
“I think that is something that's improving."
