Man City tell new chief Soriano to BETTER Man Utd finances

Wed, 02/22/2012

Former Barcelona supremo Ferran Soriano will be told to take on Manchester United - both on and off the pitch - by Manchester City.

Soriano is expected to be named new chief executive officer at City.

And the Manchester Evening News says the Blues’ next head man – expected to be former Barcelonasupremo Soriano – has been briefed that the owners want City to more than double the club’s income in the next 10 years.

And that means taking the Reds’ place as regular Premier League winners and Champions League contenders, as well as leapfrogging them at the top of the English clubs’ rich list.

City had a turnover of £153million for last season, but this season are expected to move above Spurs and Liverpool and into the European top 10, with only United, Chelsea and Arsenal ahead of them in England.
