Rush: Man Utd needed Dalglish to leave Liverpool to start winning again

Liverpool legend Kenny Rush feels the original departure of Kenny Dalglish left the door open toManchester United to dominate the English game.
Rush knows that this is a massive season for Kop fans: out of Europe for the first time in 12 years and looking on in envy after Manchester United’s 19th title, which, in the words of Fergie, “knocked Liverpooloff their f***ing perch”.
Rush told the Sunday Mirror. “Maybe if Kenny had stayed as manager then Liverpoolcould have stayed up where United have been.
“Kenny left because he wanted to leave, but he has unfinished business and certainly now that he has returned he’s put a smile on faces, not just in the club, but around the city.
“He’s brought belief, he’s brought status. People that are signing for Liverpool now are signing because Kenny Dalglish is the manager.
“We are still a massive club. I’ve just come back from China and Malaysia – 40,000 turned up just to watch training.
“Kenny makes the people believe in the club. And he makes players believe – just like he always did.”
