Premier League Team of the Week: Round One - Sergio Aguero and Fernando Torres provide a former Atletico Madrid forward line
Just the nine games graced England’s top flight this weekend following the postponement of Tottenham-Everton, and here is our best 11 players from the opening matches of the season

The Premier League is officially back, and despite a surprisingly sluggish start, the tail end of the weekend provided the glamorous crescendo football fans had been craving ever since May.
Cesc Fabregas may have left England’s top flight, and Carlos Tevez may wish he could follow suit, but those left behind certainly showed their worth at the weekend, as some of the league’s biggest stars – old and new – delivered a series of impressive displays.
TOTW often throws up surprise inclusions, but three Stoke members - Asmir Begovic, Robert Huth and Jonathan Woodgate - shows just how well they played to nullify Chelsea on Sunday.
Holding our midfield are two of last season's premier conductors, with David Silva – scintillating against Swansea on Monday night – lining up alongside Premier League veteran Danny Murphy.
Width, pace and guile is provided by the trio of Victor Moses, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, with the latter having made a fantastic start to his Manchester United career.
Up top, two former heroes of Atletico Madrid. Fernando Torres, ridiculed last season, took a gigantic stride to redeeming himself with a vintage performance against Stoke. Unfortunately for the Spaniard he didn’t get the goal his play deserved, but another glance to our own Potters trio and you’ll see why.
Last, but by no means least, is Sergio Aguero. What a debut from the Argentine: scoring two goals and supplying an assist, and it didn’t even start until the 59th minute! Aguero showed City fans there can be life after Tevez, and on that performance – by himself and the team – it could even be brighter.
