Wayne Rooney has told Manchester United teammate Paul Scholes to play on next season.
The 37-year-old has been a revelation since coming out of retirement in January — and Rooney has urged the midfielder to give it another season.
He said: “Everyone has seen the quality over the years. It’s just fantastic the way he keeps the ball for the team.
“He’s a big, important player for us and, hopefully, he’ll be here for a while.”
