Former Tottenham star Jamie Redknapp says Michael Carrick must improve his scoring record forManchester United.
Redknapp wrote in his column for the Daily Mail: "Michael Carrick’s burst from inside his own half, intercepting a sloppy Joey Barton pass and surging upfield, was impressive, but this statistic isn’t: it was his first goal for 70 games.
"I know Michael, I think he is a smashing footballer, but that isn’t good enough. I know he’s the holding player for United, but he can play with both feet, hits a ball cleanly and sweetly and should be scoring 10 goals a season."
