Sunderland boss Steve Bruce hopes to re-signManchester United striker Danny Welbeck.
The News of the World says Welbeck starred at the Stadium of Light last season and even though Fergie has taken the England Under-21 striker back to Old Trafford, Bruce believes he may yet land his man.
The forward needs games and seems unlikely to get them with United top heavy with forwards ahead of the new campaign.
Welbeck scored six goals at Sunderland last season and the 20-year-old refused to rule out a return.
