Manchester City are set to hand manager Roberto Mancini a new deal worth £20 million.

The Daily Express says Mancini will be offered a new £20million four-year contract as his reward for ending Manchester City’s 44-year wait for the Premier League title.

Mancini has been given the green light by City’s Abu Dhabi backers to strengthen his squad further in a bid to retain the title and land the Champions League.

Mancini’s top targets are Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Lille playmaker Eden Hazard. But first he will sign a £5m-a-season deal to put himself alongsideSir Alex Ferguson as the Premier League’s best-paid manager.
