Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Shaun Derry deserved his red in victory over QPR.
The QPR man was sent off and Wayne Rooney’s penalty and a late goal from Paul Scholes sealed the win for United.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "I’m happy we’ve won. There are six left now. Hopefully we can run it out. Ashley was a yard offside so I can understand Mark (Hughes) being angry.
"Derry had a little tug on Ashley. Not a great deal but enough to get us a penalty kick. Being the last defender, he had to be sent off."
