Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand insists Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany deserved his red.
City boss Roberto Mancini has indicated they'll appeal the decision.
But Ferdinand tweeted: "By the way how can there be any debate about the red card yesterday?? You leave the ground with a #2footTackle = Red card #fact."
