Bayern Munich are competing with Bayer Leverkusen for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The Daily Star says Bayern officials travelled to Manchester earlier this week to discuss a deal for the Bulgarian striker.
Bayern have identified Berbatov as a replacement for Croatian forward Ivica Olic, who has told the club he will leave the Allianz Arena in the summer.
But Berbatov’s former club Leverkusen are also keen to lure him back and offer the United record signing an escape route from Old Trafford.
