Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton believes Wayne Rooney will be a leader at Old Trafford for the next ten years.
Charlton never believed that the England striker would quit Old Trafford during his troubled times 12 months ago.
He revealed, too, that he always has a few words of wisdom for his striker successor and Rooney is always eager to listen.
“I can always remember our youth coaches going on about this young kid at Everton years ago,” said Sir Bobby.
“When your staff go on about someone like that you never forget it. I was just glad when we got him. And I wasn’t worried last season. I’m just glad he is playing for us and nobody else.
“Wayne has the potential to be a great player at United for another decade.”a
